Sweetened naturally with Medjool dates and crafted with gluten-free oat flour, these brownies offer a wholesome indulgence without compromising on flavor.

Why Make These Vegan Double Chocolate Brownies?

Brownies have long been a favorite dessert, but traditional recipes often include dairy, eggs, and refined sugars. This vegan version eliminates animal products and added sugars, making it suitable for those with dietary restrictions or anyone seeking a healthier alternative. The use of Medjool dates not only provides natural sweetness but also adds moisture, resulting in a perfectly fudgy texture.

Health Benefits of Key Ingredients

  • Medjool Dates: Often referred to as “nature’s caramel,” Medjool dates are rich in dietary fiber, potassium, and antioxidants. They offer a natural sweetness without the need for refined sugars.
  • Gluten-Free Oat Flour: A nutritious alternative to all-purpose flour, oat flour is high in fiber and provides a hearty texture, making these brownies suitable for those with gluten sensitivities.
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: Packed with antioxidants, cocoa powder delivers intense chocolate flavor while offering health benefits such as improved heart health and reduced inflammation.

Vegan Double Chocolate Brownies

Of course, these delicious Double Chocolate Brownies are only sweetened with Medjool dates, so no sugar is added to them either!

  5. Hmmm… it depends on my mood. Sometimes I love a handheld dessert like a delicious chocolatey brownie or a cookie and sometimes a slice of cake with ice cream sounds really good! Lately with all the heat, ice cream has sounded the best!

  6. I have to admit, I like a really fudgy brownie, Im just not a cake fan. But my grandma prefers a cake brownie and loves dates so this would be perfect for her! I love how natural and light these are. Great recipe.

  23. Julie says:

I must say that after reading through sixteen comments from people who didn’t even make the recipe, I feel like I’ve had my time wasted. However, I would like to comment that I did make the recipe and it is very good. I doubled all the ingredients but used the same size pan, which made it more thick and cakey. I didn’t have any chocolate chips, so I substituted two tablespoons sugar + two tablespoons coconut oil. It came out light and cakey, and very sweet and chocolaty. It was a much darker brown than in the photos. Maybe there’s something wrong with the lighting in the photos.

  24. These brownies sound absolutely divine! Love that they’re naturally sweetened with Medjool dates—such a great way to keep them rich and fudgy without added sugar. Can’t wait to try this guilt-free indulgence!
